RAJASTHAN-REGION AT A GLANCE
Rajasthan is situated in the North western part of the India Union. The state of Rajasthan is the largest state in India with the geographical spread of about 3.42 lakh sq.kms. having 32 districts and ranks first in terms of area of the country. It occupies 10.41% of country is total area yet its population is only 5.5% of total population of the country. It covers 826 km. from North to south and 869 from west to east.
It is land of vibrant colours known for its valiance and chivalry. It is unusual diversity in all its from people, customs, weather, music, manners, cuisine and physiography.
The regional office is located at Jaipur which is located at Jaipur which is the capital of Rajasthan and popularly known as Pink City of India. The Regional Office is functioning since 1956-57 with an overall responsibility of implementing the provisions of Employees Provident Funds and Misc. Provisions Act, 1952 and schemes framed there under in the State of Rajasthan. The Regional Office is assisted by three Sub-regional Offices at Kota, Udaipur and Jodhpur. This office is housed in its own building and has Staff quarters as well. Implementation of the provisions of the Employees Provident Funds and Misc. Provisions Act, 1952 and schemes framed there under in 10 districts namely, Jaipur. Tonk, Bharatpur, Dholpur, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Churu, Alwar, Dausa and Ajmer are directly looked after by the Regional Office. the region is headed by Shri M.P.Sinha, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner (Grade-I) with effect from 3rd July.2009.
Sub-Regional Office:In pursuance of the policy of providing better & prompt services to the subscribers nearer to their door steps, three Sub-Regional Offices have been set each at Kota, Udaipur and Jodhpur.
Sub-Regional Office, Kota:This office was opened in December, 1982 and is currently headed by Shri R.M.Verma, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-Grade-II. This office is operating from its own building and has staff quarters also. The work relating to compliance, accounts and pension etc. is looked after by this office in respect of six districts namely Sawaimadhhopur, Karauli, Baran, Kota, Bundi and Jhalawar. this area is known as Hadoti Anchal.
SRO, Kota has been selected as one of the Six Pilot Offices of EFPO under Re-inventing EPF India Project.
Sub-Regional Office, Udaipur:The second Sub-regional Office in Rajasthan region was setup at Udaipur in May, 1987. It is headed by Shri P.P.S Maingi, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-Grade-II. This office is functioning in its own building and has staff Quaters as well. This Sub-regional Office has jurisdiction over six districts viz. Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Raj Samand, Bhilwara, Banswara & Dungarpur. This area is also known as Mewar Anchal & Wagarh.
Sub-Regional Office, Jodhpur:The third Sub-Regional Office, Jodhpur started functioning at Jodhpur in October, 1997. This office is headed by Shri G.D. Verma, A.P.F.C. This office is now discharging its functions from own building. The work of constructions of its own office building was completed on Dec.2005 and staff quarters was completed. The work relating to compliance, accounts and pension in respect of 10 districts viz. Jodhpur, Barmer, Jalore, Jaisalmer, Sirohi, Pali, Bikaner, Nagaur, Sriganganager and Hanumangarh is looked after by this office. This area is known Marwar Anchal.
